Chapter 1
Jack was a man living in a little cottage in the forest. There he had no electricity and no water. But that was the way he prefered living. He lived next to a beatiful little lakelet with a lot of fish, and he was not all by himself. He had an old dog named Teddy which kept him with company. Teddy always followed Jack no Mather were he went, (that could soethimes be quit irritating). - Jack thought he was the happiest person in the entire world. The forest he lived in was full of life: Birds were singing; loud and clear, flowers grew everywhere, and the lakelet was filled with water lilies on every edge. It hardely went a day without him seeing squirrels jumping around from tree to tree, searching for the best cones.
One day Jack had been out hunting, and when he was on his way back home, he dragged a deer after him. Teddy was right beside him, fatefully and stubborn as he was. "Now we will have food for several days Teddy, what do you say about that?" Teddy looked up at his owner, his brown friendly eyes shone in the sunlight. "As Quiet as alway" Jack said to himself with a heavy sigh. He swept his hand over his forehead, stopped for a couple of seconds before he again started walking. The hunting had been successfully but very tired full aswell. He could hardly wait to get home and sit in his only favourite chair with a cup of coffee and a good book.
A good thing about the cottage was that you could not see it from any angle; because the forest was to tick. The only way to notice it was if you suddenly "stumbled over it". Jack and Teddy was probably the only ones knowing about it, besides all of the animals of course.
Finally they reached the hut, the small glade made a sudden heat when the sun threw its beams at their bodies. A strong reflection from the lakelet, made it hardly possible to see anything. Outside they had a "cave" dug out from the ground. That was were they keept their food so it would keep cool; and fresh longer. - When they had carried the deer down; they went into the cottage. As Jack opened the door he almost fell backwards in shock. Everything was a total mess. Cupboards was opened and ewrything thrown out. Furnitures was damaged, even his favourite chair had got a big hole. He had difficulties believing what he saw. He looked down on the floor trying to remember how things used to look like. Teddy growled. Than he saw something that blinked next to his foot. He bended and took up an needle with a shape of an eagle. It reminded him about something, but he couldent remember what.
